The Topdon TopScan Moto update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the TopScan Moto for one year. The device reads all motorcycle systems, performs CO adjustment and throttle body learning, and can programme keys; the manufacturer list is targeted and shifts noticeably with each update. The TopScan Moto is a dongle weighing less than eighty grams that works with your phone for motorcycle diagnostics, and in that line of work what matters most is whether the device recognises today's vehicle. An active licence makes that difference.
For this model, a renewal centres mainly on manufacturer coverage and adjustment procedures, as new model years for two-wheelers only become available with an active licence. To set this up we need the serial number of your TopScan Moto; this is mandatory at checkout. You will then receive the renewal card by email and enter the code in the update menu. When the term expires, nothing changes on the device itself.

What an extension provides you with
- New vehicle coverage: Brands, models and model years added after your last update become available within the existing diagnostic functions.
- Expanded service functions: Procedures such as resetting service intervals, learning throttle body, adjusting idle speed, CO adjustment and ABS bleeding continue to support newer vehicles as manufacturers modify their systems.
- Corrections and improvements: Bug fixes, faster routines and corrected procedures in the software itself are delivered through the same updates.
What happens without an extension
- New software: The update menu no longer delivers new versions; the TopScan Moto remains on the version currently installed.
- Online services: The online services linked to the licence may be discontinued or become limited.
- New models: Motorcycles released after your last update will no longer be added.

How does it work in practice?
The four steps below outline the entire process. Ensure the TopScan Moto remains connected to the charger during the download.
- Specify your device: Provide the serial number of your TopScan Moto when placing your order.
- Code sent: You will receive the card with the code by email, typically within one working day.
- Activate on the device: Enter the code in the update menu of the TopScan Moto; no PC is required.
- Complete: Start the download over wifi and leave the TopScan Moto connected to the charger until installation is finished.
