Mercedes W212 EIS/ELV to 16-pin OBD2 adapter cable
The Mercedes W212 EIS/ELV to 16-pin OBD2 adapter cable is a specialized programming adapter designed for direct communication with the EIS (Elektronischer Zündschalter) and ELV (Elektronische Lenkungsverriegelung) modules outside the vehicle. This cable is not intended for standard OBD2 diagnostics, but for professional use on the workbench (on-bench).
The cable supplies power to the module and provides direct communication via K-Line or CAN bus with specialized programming equipment. This excludes the rest of the vehicle, which is necessary for tasks such as key programming, module replacement, and ELV repair.
Application and functionality:
This cable is used in combination with professional Mercedes programming tools such as CGDI MB, Xhorse VVDI MB, Autel IM608, etc. Typical applications include:
- ELV repair: Read ELV data, virginize, personalize after replacement
- Key programming: Teach new keys or deactivate lost keys
- Module replacement: Read data from defective EIS and transfer to replacement unit
- Test platform: Set up workbench configuration to test EIS, key, and ELV without vehicle
