The DAF Euro 5 DTC Remover is a diagnostic fault code clearer designed for professional diagnostic technicians, fleet managers, and truck drivers. This compact device is developed to quickly and efficiently clear stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the memory of DAF trucks with a Euro 5 engine. By connecting the tool directly to the vehicle’s OBD port, active dashboard warnings can be reset. This is an effective method to clean the fault memory after a repair or to keep a vehicle drivable with non-critical warnings.
Once the device is plugged in, it immediately initiates communication with the central ECU and underlying vehicle systems via the CAN network. The remover sends digital clear commands to delete stored fault codes from memory. If a vehicle has entered limp mode due to a sensor malfunction, clearing these fault codes can temporarily lift power and speed restrictions, allowing the truck to be moved to a workshop. Note that permanent fault codes cannot be permanently removed; they only disappear after the physical hardware defect is repaired and the onboard computer verifies during a driving cycle that the issue is resolved.
