The DAF Euro 6 DTC-eraser is a specialized DTC remover designed for diagnostic technicians, mechanics, and roadside assistance services. This plug-and-play module is specifically developed for heavy commercial vehicles and offers a fast, targeted method to clear fault codes (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from various vehicle systems. The device proves its value especially when a Truck switches to limpmode due to electronic or emission-related faults. By clearing the fault memory, the power and speed limitation can be temporarily lifted, allowing the vehicle to be driven safely to a secure location or workshop.
Technically, the product operates by connecting directly to the OBD port and then communicating via the CAN network of the Truck. Once connected, it automatically processes reset protocols towards essential ECUs, such as the engine control unit (PCI), the AdBlue system (EAS 3), and the braking system (EBS 3). While historical (stored) codes are cleared immediately to clean the memory, permanent fault codes remain active in the system until the underlying hardware fault is physically repaired and the ECU validates during driving that the malfunction is resolved. This direct interaction eliminates the need for an external diagnostic laptop during roadside emergencies.
