The Autel MX-Sensor is a universally programmable TPMS sensor designed for direct tire pressure monitoring systems. This component accurately measures internal tire pressure and temperature and transmits this data via dual frequencies of both 315 MHz and 433 MHz. Due to these combined frequencies, the sensor is immediately usable for almost all European, American, and Asian vehicles that are standard equipped with a direct measurement system in the wheel.
The technical operation is based on a micro-electromechanical sensor that records the current air pressure and temperature and transmits these via a strong RF signal. To communicate with the vehicle's control unit, the sensor requires a unique sensor ID. This ID and the vehicle-specific protocol are transferred during the programming process using a compatible programmer from the same brand. During installation, the original sensor ID can be cloned; if placed in the same wheel position, the learning process (relearn) via the vehicle software is often skipped. While driving, the sensor periodically transmits data to provide the onboard computer with current values.
