The cable is designed for use with OBDSTAR diagnostic readers and programmers and enables diagnostics on motorcyclesthat are equipped with a 6-pin diagnostic port. The vehicle-side connector features a rectangular housing with6 contact pins in a 2×3 configuration, as commonly found on various Chinese motorcycle brands.\n

\nThe M021A connects the 6-pin vehicle port with the 16-pin OBD2 connector from the diagnostic device through the relevant signal lines — including the K-line and power lines — translated to the corresponding pin positions of the J1962 standard. This allows the OBDSTAR device to communicate with the engine management electronics of the motorcycle platform. The cable is compact design, making connections easier in tight spaces around the frame or handlebar area.\n

Applications and Features

The M021A adapter cable supports the following diagnostic functions via an OBDSTAR diagnostic reader on motorcycles with a 6-pin OBD port.

  • Reading fault codes (DTC): The diagnostic reader retrieves stored and active trouble codes from the motorcycle's engine management system via the 6-pin connection.
  • Clearing fault codes: After diagnosis and repair, stored trouble codes can be cleared from the engine management system through the cable.
  • Live data reading: Real-time sensor values such as engine RPM, throttle position, and temperature readings are retrieved via the K-line and displayed on the OBDSTAR device.
  • System identification: The connected OBDSTAR device identifies the engine control electronics and logs communication through the converted OBD2 connection.
