The Jaltest JDC551A is the diagnostic cable for Liebherr excavators, material handlers, and mobile cranes; it connects the rectangular 6-pin connector to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. The machine connector is located in the cab or engine compartment.
Once the connection is established, the Jaltest software accesses the machine's control units, and the extent depends on the machine type: On an R-series excavator you can reach the machine computer MCM, on an L-series wheel loader you can access the UEC3 or Master4 computer plus the engine controls ECU2-HD, ECU3, LIDEC1 and LH ECU UPCR, and on an LTM mobile crane you can also reach the transmission (AS Tronic, TraXon, GSII and Ecomat 1), braking system, retarder and SCR aftertreatment. Construction and lifting equipment are not subject to OBD requirements, so this connector is found across multiple machine generations. The cable falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines).

Through this connection, you access the machine's control units using Jaltest software. Which systems are present varies greatly depending on machine type and generation.

- MCM, Body computer: The machine computer of R-series excavators, with fault codes, measured values and maintenance data, but without ECU data.
- UEC3, Body computer and Master4, Ethernet / RS232, Body computer: The central computers of L-series wheel loaders.
- ECU2-HD, ECU3, LIDEC1 and LH ECU UPCR, Engine Control Module: The Liebherr engine control units.
- MR/PLD, Unit Pump System: The older engine control system with unit pump technology on LTM cranes.
- ADM and ADM 3, Engine regulation interface: The engine control interface on LTM cranes.
- AS Tronic, TraXon, GSII and Ecomat 1: The transmission and shift control systems of LTM mobile cranes.
- ABS D/E and ABS/ASR E (CAN), Antilock braking system: The braking system of LTM cranes.
- EST-42, Retarder Voith and VERA, Retarder: The retarder control systems of LTM cranes.
- SCR Bluetec, Exhaust gas treatment system: The aftertreatment control on LTM models equipped with this technology.

- Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit with detailed descriptions of detected faults.
- View live data: Monitor real-time sensor values connected to the control unit, displayed as both numerical readings and graphs.
- Access service information: Including data from the MCM machine computer and engine controls ECU2-HD, ECU3 and LIDEC1.
- Perform additional functions: On the SCR aftertreatment systems of LTM cranes.
- View diagnostic alerts: Including the ADM engine control interface and GSII shift control system.
