The Jaltest JDC561A9 is the adapter cable that converts the proprietary 8-pin engine connector from Isuzu diesel engines in Hitachi machinery to the standard 16-pin OBD2-interface. The 8-pin connector is located in the engine harness at the motor itself, not at the diagnostic port in the cab; on the interface side, the cable terminates in a 16-pin OBD2 connector compatible with your Jaltest diagnostic tool. Hitachi uses two types of diagnostic connectors on these engines: this is the 8-pin version, and for the 6-pin variant, Jaltest offers the JDC560A9.
With this connection, Jaltest equipment reads the engine control unit directly at the motor side. This gives you access to the common-rail engine management 4HK1 / 4JJ1 in both K-Line and CAN configurations, the ECM of the heavier Isuzu engines, and the AdBlue/DEF-aftertreatment system on machines equipped with exhaust gas treatment. For construction equipment, the 16-pin OBD2 connector has never been mandatory, which means this engine connector remains in use on newer machines as well. This cable falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway Equipment).

Through this connection, you access the engine control unit of the machine using Jaltest software. Which version is present depends on the engine and the generation of the Zaxis.

- 4HK1, 4JJ1 (K Line) Isuzu, Electronic Diesel Control, Common Rail: The common-rail engine control of the Isuzu four-cylinder engines in K-Line configuration.
- 4HK1, 4JJ1 (CAN) Isuzu, Electronic Diesel Control, Common Rail: The same engine control on newer machines with CAN connectivity.
- ECM, Engine Control Module: The engine control as Jaltest specifies for the heavier Isuzu engines.
- AdBlue/DEF Isuzu, Exhaust gas treatment system: The aftertreatment control on machines equipped with AdBlue systems.

Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This cable fits any Hitachi machine where the Isuzu engine has the 8-pin connector in the engine harness. Jaltest OHW covers the following Isuzu engine series; verify on-site which of the two versions (6-pin or 8-pin) is installed on your machine.
