The Jaltest JDC538A is the diagnostic cable that connects the 6-pin connector of Yanmar industrial engines to the Jaltest Link. On the engine side, you'll find the 6-pin connector; on the interface side, the 16-pin OBD2 connection of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. The connector is engine-specific and located on or near the engine block, not in a fixed position on the machine.
The cable opens the diagnostic line to the engine control units EDC Yanmar Bosch and EMS Yanmar Denso, including their Stage V versions, as well as to the DCU of the exhaust aftertreatment system. With EDC Bosch and EMS Denso, coverage includes not only reading data but also maintenance intervals and additional actions; the Stage V version does not include additional actions. The cable falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines) and Jaltest Marine.

Control Units You Can Access
- EDC Yanmar Bosch — Engine Control Module: The Bosch engine control unit. Here you'll find the complete function list including maintenance and additional functions.
- EMS Yanmar Denso — Engine Control Module: The Denso engine control unit, with the same function list.
- EMS Yanmar Denso (Stage V) — Engine Control Module: The Stage V version; additional functions are not available.
- DCU — Aftertreatment System: The aftertreatment control unit, with fault codes, live data, ECU information and maintenance.
What You Can Do
- Read Fault Codes: Access the fault memory of the engine control unit and aftertreatment system, with detailed fault descriptions.
- View Live Data: Monitor real-time sensor values from the control unit, with the ability to set alarm thresholds.
- Check Maintenance: Review service intervals and associated tasks, with a customer report.
- Perform Additional Functions: Available on EDC Yanmar Bosch and EMS Yanmar Denso; not available on Stage V version or DCU.
Compatible Vehicles and Applications
The engine series determines compatibility, not the machine type. Yanmar engines are installed as standalone power units in compact machinery, equipment sets and implements; Jaltest provides diagnostic coverage for these engine series. You'll need to check on-site which connector is fitted to your engine block.
