The Jaltest JDC301A is the adapter connecting the 9-pin ECS diagnostic connector on Volvo bus chassis to the standard 16-pin OBD2-interface of the Jaltest Link. On the vehicle side, you'll find the 9-pin connector that plugs into the electronically controlled air suspension diagnostic point on the chassis; on the interface side sits the 16-pin OBD2 connector for your Jaltest diagnostic cable.
This cable routes the communication lines through to the Jaltest Link, enabling direct communication with the suspension electronics on the bus chassis. This gives your diagnostic equipment access to ECS, Suspension electronic management and the alternative suspension system ELF, Electronically controlled air suspension. Since the connection point is on the chassis itself, the bus body builder is irrelevant. From Euro IV onwards (October 2005), buses came equipped with the standardized 16-pin OBD connector; if your bus is Euro IV or newer, you won't need this adapter. The cable falls under Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles).

Control units you can access
- ECS, Suspension electronic management: Electronic control of the air suspension system, including level control and kneeling function.
- ELF, Electronically controlled air suspension: The second suspension variant that Jaltest supports on these chassis.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit with detailed descriptions of detected faults.
- View live data: Monitor real-time sensor values connected to the control unit, displayed as numbers and graphs.
- Actuate components: Directly activate parts to determine whether the fault is in the component itself or in the wiring.
- Configure parameters: Write settings and configurations to the control unit.
- Perform calibrations: Run calibration procedures for systems where Jaltest offers this function, such as after component replacement.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This cable fits any Volvo bus chassis with the 9-pin ECS connector. The series listed below are covered under Jaltest CV; check on-site which connector your chassis has.
