The Jaltest JDC101A connects the 3+3-pin diagnostic connector of the Haldex Modal trailer braking system to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. Behind the OBD2 connector, a single black cable runs to two identical black connector housings, each with three cavities. One housing contains three brass-coloured flat pin terminals, the other two, with one cavity empty; the two housings are interconnected by a white and a green wire. Both housings carry terminals and therefore do not form a mating pair: each connects to its own pin block on the Modal unit. The cable is 28 to 30 cm in length.
Beyond that connection, Jaltest software accesses the ABS MODAL, the anti-lock braking system for trailers and semi-trailers. From that unit you can read fault codes, live data, ECU information and maintenance data; actuating components and adjusting parameters are not supported for this system. Because the Haldex unit is chassis-mounted and not determined by the trailer manufacturer, the same cable fits various trailer makes. The cable is compatible with Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under the Jaltest CV module.

Applications and functionality
Via this connection you can access the Jaltest software the remote control system of the trailer, in other words the anti-lock braking system, and not the tractor unit itself. Which Haldex module you encounter determines the system generation on the chassis, not the trailer make. The control unit below is sourced from the Haldex coverage of Jaltest, with the functions available there for this system.

Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type is what matters, not the model. This cable fits any trailer or semi-trailer where the Haldex Modal unit with two 3-pin connectors is mounted on the chassis. For trailers, no standardised diagnostic connector has ever been mandated, which means this configuration remains in use on more recent semi-trailers as well. Trailers with a single round 4-pin Haldex connector belong to JDC102A or JDC108A.
