The Jaltest JDC504A is the adapter cable connecting the 12-pin diagnostic connector on Deutz engines to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. This 12-pin connector is integrated into the engine and located on or near the engine block. Since Deutz supplies engines to dozens of equipment manufacturers—from Deutz-Fahr and Fendt to Claas and Amazone—you'll find this same connector across machines from many different brands.
Behind this single connector lie three generations of Deutz engine control systems. Once connected, your diagnostic equipment gains access to EMR2 - EDC, EMR3 - EDC 7 UC31, EMR3 - EDC 16 UC40 and EMR4 - EDC 17 CV52. The coverage difference lies in maintenance data: with EMR3 - EDC 16 UC40 and EMR4 - EDC 17 CV52, you'll see both fault codes and service intervals; with EMR2 - EDC and EMR3 - EDC 7 UC31, fault codes only. The cable is compatible with Jaltest AGV (agricultural vehicles), Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines) and Jaltest MHE (Material Handling Equipment).

Applications and features
Through this connection, you can access the Deutz engine control unit using Jaltest software. Jaltest distinguishes between successive EMR generations.
Control units you can access
- EMR2 - EDC, Engine Control Module: The older Deutz engine control unit, found on 2013-series engines among others, with fault codes, live data and ECU information.
- EMR3 - EDC 7 UC31: The common-rail version of the third generation.
- EMR3 - EDC 16 UC40: The second EMR3 variant; maintenance intervals are also included in the coverage.
- EMR4 - EDC 17 CV52 Deutz: The current common-rail engine control unit, found on heavier TCD engines among others.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit with fault descriptions, and clear it after repair.
- View live data: Monitor current sensor values from the control unit, with the ability to set alarm thresholds for out-of-range readings.
- Maintenance: Check engine maintenance intervals and record associated service work in a report. Available for EMR3 - EDC 16 UC40 and EMR4 - EDC 17 CV52.
Component control is not included in the coverage table for Deutz engine control units.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the machine brand. Deutz engines are installed as standalone powerplants, so the engine series is what matters, not the equipment manufacturer. Jaltest covers the series listed below; check your engine's connector type on site.
