Autel CAN FD Adapter | Accessories
The Autel CAN FD Adapter is an accessory designed to enable diagnostics on vehicles using the CAN FD (Controller Area Network with Flexible Data-Rate) communication protocol. This Adapter functions as an intermediary between the VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) and the vehicle's OBD-II port, allowing compatible Autel diagnostic devices to communicate with newer vehicle systems.
The Adapter is specifically developed for use with Autel VCI's that do not have standard CAN FD support. It is compatible with a wide range of Autel MaxiSys tablets, including the MX808, MS906, and MS908 series. Vehicle models from, among others, General Motors and Ford from model year 2019 use this protocol. Newer Autel diagnostic devices, such as the Ultra, MS919, and MS909, have integrated CAN FD support and do not require this Adapter.
Application and functionality:
This Adapter is developed to expand the diagnostic capabilities of compatible Autel testers to vehicles with modern communication protocols.
- CAN FD protocol support: Enables communication with the faster CAN FD bus, which is used in recent vehicle models from, among others, General Motors and Ford.
- Diagnosis of new vehicles: Enables users to perform full system diagnostics on vehicles that were previously inaccessible with VCIs without CAN FD support.
- Compatibility with Autel tablets: Works in combination with various MaxiSys models, including the IM508, IM608, MSELITE, MS905, MS906, MS906BT, MS906TS, MS908, MS908P, MS908S, MS908SP, and MX808.
- Compatibility with Autel VCI: To be used with the MaxiFlash Elite J2534, VCI, VCI Mini, and VCI100.
- Easy integration: The Adapter is connected directly to the vehicle's OBD-II port, after which the VCI is connected to the Adapter.
