The Topdon UltraDiag Moto is a fault code reader and diagnostic system specifically developed for motorcycle diagnostics. The system, which runs on Android 11, supports more than 80 manufacturers and communicates with the vehicle via Bluetooth VCI. The tablet features an 8-inch touchscreen, a 4-core processor and a 10,000 mAh battery. Key functions include performing a complete system diagnosis, bidirectional control and various service functions. A software licence for 1 year is included with purchase.

The UltraDiag Moto offers advanced features such as a topology map that provides a visual overview of all electronic control units and their communication status. The device can display live data in various formats, including graphs, and supports AutoVIN for automatic vehicle identification. The software also includes access to technical service bulletins (TSB) and a DLC locator to quickly identify the diagnostic port on the vehicle.

Diagnostic functions:

The UltraDiag Moto performs diagnostics on all electronic systems present on the motorcycle, such as the engine, ABS, transmission and instrument cluster.

• Read and clear fault codes: Reads and removes fault codes (DTCs) from all available control units.
• Live data: Displays real-time data from sensors and components in various views, such as text and graphs.
• Actuator test: Allows you to directly control specific components and systems, such as injectors or fans, to check their functionality. This is also known as bidirectional control.
• AutoVIN: Automatically identifies the motorcycle based on the vehicle identification number (VIN).
• Read ECU information: Retrieves detailed information from the electronic control unit, such as software version and part numbers.
• Topology map: Provides a graphical representation of the vehicle's network structure, including the status of all control units and their mutual communication.

Service and maintenance functions:

This device supports more than 14 service and maintenance functions for motorcycles. The availability of specific functions may vary depending on the manufacturer, model and year of the vehicle.

Engine and drivetrain:

• Air/fuel ratio reset (A/F): Resets the parameters for the air-fuel mixture to factory settings.
• CO adjustment: Calibrates carbon monoxide (CO) emissions to meet emission standards and ensure optimal engine operation.
• Idle speed adjustment: Regulates and stabilises the engine's idle speed.
• Throttle valve adaptation: Recalibrates the throttle valve actuator after replacement or cleaning to ensure correct response.
• Clutch adjustment: Performs initial settings or adaptations for the clutch actuator.

Brakes:

• ABS bleeding: Performs an automated procedure to remove air bubbles from the ABS braking system after maintenance.

Steering:

• Steering angle sensor initialisation (SAS): Calibrates the sensor that measures the steering angle, which is necessary for systems such as traction control.

Body and electrical:

• Battery management system reset (BMS): Registers a new battery in the vehicle system and resets charging parameters.
• Tyre pressure monitoring system reset (TPMS): Relearns sensors and resets warnings after a tyre change or sensor replacement.
• Odometer reset (ODO): Sets or calibrates the odometer after instrument cluster replacement.
• Service interval reset: Clears the service reminder on the dashboard after performing a service.
• Control unit reset: Restores an electronic control unit (ECU) to default or factory settings.
• Vehicle identification number (VIN): Reads or writes the unique identification number of the vehicle in a control unit.
