Topdon TB8000 | Trickle Charger
The Topdon TB8000 is a battery charger and maintainer, designed for charging 6V and 12V lead acid batteries and 12V lithium-ion batteries. The device delivers a maximum charging current of 8A and is suitable for batteries with a capacity of 15Ah to 260Ah. Operation is based on a 9-step smart charging process that analyzes the battery condition and adjusts the charging process accordingly for optimal results. The charger is compatible with various battery types, including WET, GEL, MF, CAL, EFB, AGM and Lithium.
This trickle charger features multiple charging modes, including a specific repair mode for restoring sulfated batteries and a power supply mode that provides a stable 13.6V/5A output. A built-in temperature sensor ensures automatic compensation of the charging voltage based on ambient temperature. The system includes various protection mechanisms, such as protection against reverse polarity, short circuit, overcharging and overheating. The housing has an IP65 rating, providing protection against dust and water.
Application and functionality:
The TB8000 is developed for charging, maintaining and restoring various types of vehicle batteries.
- 9-step smart charging: The charging process automatically goes through nine steps, including diagnosis, desulfation, pre-charging, soft start, bulk charging, absorption, analysis, reconditioning and maintenance (trickle charging).
- Repair mode: A special mode to recondition older, unused or sulfated 12V batteries through a pulsing charging process.
- Power supply mode: Functions as a stable 13.6V/5A power source. This can be used to power a vehicle's onboard electronics during a battery change or diagnostic work.
- Automatic temperature compensation: An integrated sensor measures the ambient temperature and automatically adjusts the charging voltage to prevent over- or undercharging in extreme temperatures.
- Multiple charging modes: Offers specific settings for 12V NORM, 12V LITHIUM, 12V AGM/COLD, 6V NORM and 12V REPAIR.
- Built-in protection: The system is spark-free and provides protection against reverse polarity, overcharging, overcurrent, open circuit, short circuit, and overheating.
Supported battery types:
The charger is compatible with a wide range of 6V and 12V batteries.
- Lead acid (6V & 12V): Suitable for wet (Flooded), gel, maintenance-free (MF), Calcium (Ca), Enhanced Flooded Battery (EFB) and Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries.
- Lithium-ion (12V): Supports 12V lithium batteries, including LiFePO4 batteries.
