The Topdon T-Ninja Pro update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the T-Ninja Pro with one year. What the T-Ninja Pro can do is determined by the software, not the hardware. The device is a key programmer with an eight-inch display, built for key and immobiliser work. The device learns keys, deletes them, reads the PIN code and handles situations where all keys are lost; reading and writing transponder chips is also included. An update licence gives you one year's access to all new versions released during that period.
The update licence is digital. You will receive a card with a code in your mailbox and enters them on the T-Ninja Pro itself, in the update menu. When ordering, provide the serial number of the device, as that field is mandatory. An update licence primarily supplements the key and immobiliser files as manufacturers adjust their immobilisers annually; in addition, the standard vehicle coverage included.

Features and functionality
Three functions on the T-Ninja Pro are tied to the licence. The vehicle coverage determines which vehicles the device recognises, the function files determine what it can do with them, and the online services deliver external data.
What a renewal provides
- New vehicle coverage: Brands, models and model years added after your last update become available within existing diagnostic functions.
- Expanded service functions: Procedures such as oil service reset, throttle body learning, diesel particulate filter regeneration, steering angle sensor initialisation and battery management reset continue to work on newer vehicles as manufacturers update their systems.
- Key and immobiliser files: The file containing key, transponder and immobiliser procedures grows alongside newer systems.
What happens without renewal
- New versions: Nothing further is added, including no corrections to software already installed.
- Online portal: Services running through manufacturer servers may become limited or unavailable after expiry.
- No feature loss: What you can do with the T-Ninja Pro today, you can still do after the licence expires.

How does it work in practice?
It takes four steps. Allow for some download time if you haven't updated for a year.
- Provide your details: We need the serial number of your T-Ninja Pro; please provide this when ordering.
- Delivery: The extension card is supplied digitally, usually within one working day.
- Enter: The code goes into the update menu of the T-Ninja Pro; the licence renewal is activated there.
- Update the software: In the update menu, select the new versions and let the device download them over WiFi.
