The Topdon Phoenix XLink update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the Phoenix XLink with one year. The Phoenix XLink is a ten-inch diagnostic tablet with the interface built into the device itself, so without a separate dongle. Between updates, nothing changes on the device, whilst the vehicle fleet arriving at your workshop does change. The device operates on nine to thirty-six volts, which also brings twenty-four-volt work within reach, and supports CAN FD and DoIP with online and offline programming included.

A licence renewal keeps the vehicle coverage, the programming and coding files and the topology display via a card with a code which you receive by email and enter yourself into the update menu . We need the serial number of your Phoenix XLink for this, so please provide that with your order. Without renewal, the device remains usable on the version installed on it.

✕Vehicle connection plays no role in updates; everything occurs via Wi-Fi and the charger.

What a renewal on the Phoenix XLink actually does is easiest to see by dividing the software into three parts. There is the vehicle coverage, there are the function files and there is the online platform. All three advance with an active licence.

What a renewal provides

New vehicle coverage: Brands, models and model years added after your last update become available within existing diagnostic functions.
Expanded service functions: Procedures such as oil service, clutch learning, air conditioning system learning, high-voltage battery reading and turbo pressure adjustment continue to work on newer vehicles as manufacturers modify their systems.
Programming files: The files behind ECU programming are expanded for newer control units.

What happens without renewal

No updates: New coverage and new procedures no longer reach the device.
Online functions: Anything the software does not have built-in may stop working afterwards.
What remains: Everything the device can do at that moment, it will continue to do; the Phoenix XLink doesn't lose value, it simply doesn't become newer.
