The Topdon Phoenix Pro update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the Phoenix Pro with one year. What the Phoenix Pro can do is determined by the software, not the hardware. The device is a twelve-inch diagnostic tablet running an open Android system, allowing you to install your own applications. The device performs cloud-based programming and online coding across a wide range of European and Asian vehicle manufacturers and displays a topology display; the interface operates exclusively on twelve-volt vehicles. An extension gives you one year's access to all new versions released during that period.
The extension is digital. You will receive a card with a code in your mailbox and you enter those on the Phoenix Pro itself, in the update menu. When ordering, provide the serial number of the device, as this field is mandatory. An extension keeps the vehicle coverage, the programming and coding files and the online services.

POINTS TO NOTE
✕The serial number of the device must be provided with your order; this is not an optional field.
✕Without renewal, the programming files remain unchanged, whilst vehicle manufacturers update their systems most rapidly in this area.
✕An extension provides software only, not hardware, so ADAS calibration equipment must be purchased separately.
✕Without internet connection on the device, nothing happens, regardless of licence validity.
Applications and functionalities
Three things on the Phoenix Pro are tied to the licence. The vehicle coverage determines which vehicles the device recognises, the function files determine what it can do with them, and the online services deliver external data.
What a renewal provides
- New vehicle coverage: Brands, models and model years added after your last update become available within existing diagnostic functions.
- Expanded service functions: Procedures such as oil service, electronic parking brake, steering angle sensor calibration, ABS bleeding and injector coding continue to support newer vehicles as manufacturers update their systems.
- Programming files: The files behind ECU programming are expanded for newer control units.
What happens without renewal
- No further updates: The update menu remains empty, even when the manufacturer releases new versions.
- Cloud services: Reporting and support running through the manufacturer's servers may cease.
- No feature loss: What you can do with the Phoenix Pro today, you can still do after your licence expires.

Expires in four steps. Allow for some download time if you haven't updated for a year.
- Provide your details: We need the serial number of your Phoenix Pro; please provide this when ordering.
- Delivery: The extension card is supplied digitally, usually within one working day.
- Entering: The code goes in the update menu of the Phoenix Pro; the extension is activated there.
- Update the software: In the update menu, select the new versions and let the device download them over WiFi.
