Thinkcar Thinktool Max Car Diagnostic Tool

Communication with the vehicle is wireless via the supplied Smartlink C VCI, an advanced interface compatible with the latest protocols such as CAN-FD, DoIP and J2534 Pass-Thru. This makes the Thinktool Max fully prepared for modern vehicle networks and complex electronic systems. The system is delivered standard with two years of free software updates for passenger cars. After this period, the device continues to operate with the last installed software, but an annual license is required to maintain new updates and access to online features. For diagnosis and service on heavy-duty vehicles (HD), a separate software license is optionally available.

Diagnostic functions:

The Thinkcar Thinktool Max offers extensive OE-level diagnostic capabilities, comparable to those of original brand dealer equipment. The Diagnostic Tool is suitable for in-depth fault analysis, network analysis, and real-time data monitoring.

• Complete system diagnosis: Provides access to all electronic systems in the vehicle, such as engine, transmission, ABS, airbag, steering, BCM, and more. Supports reading and clearing fault codes with full technical descriptions.
• Intelligent Topology Mapping: Visualizes the communication structure between all present ECUs in a vehicle. Color coding immediately shows the status of each module (normal, fault, offline), helping to locate network faults.
• Active tests (bidirectional control): Sends commands to actuators and components, such as activating the fuel pump, testing fans, or opening valves, to directly verify system operation.
• Live datastream: Displays real-time sensor data from all modules in text and graph form. Supports displaying up to 12 datastreams simultaneously in a combined graph view for comparison and analysis.
• AutoVIN and AutoScan: Automatically recognizes the vehicle based on the VIN number and performs a full scan of all present control units, including fault codes, system status, and version information.

Maintenance and service functions:

The Thinktool Max supports more than 41 special reset and maintenance functions, allowing essential systems to be initialized, adjusted, or reset after repair or replacement. These functions are indispensable in daily use within professional workshops.

• Oil Service Reset (Service): Resets the maintenance interval after replacing engine oil and oil filter.
• Electronic Parking Brake (EPB): Release and initialization of the electronic handbrake during brake service.
• Battery Management System (BMS): Registration of a new Battery in the vehicle system for correct charging control.
• Steering Angle Sensor (SAS): Calibration of the steering angle sensor after alignment or replacement of steering components.
• Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF): Forced regeneration and fault code reset of the soot filter.
• ABS pump bleeding (ABS): Removes air from the ABS system after replacement of brake components or fluid.
• Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) reset: Learning or resetting tire pressure sensors.

• Online programming (ECU flashing): Supports the complete reprogramming of ECUs with original factory files. This function is crucial when replacing complex control units and is supported for brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Land Rover, Jaguar, Nissan and Subaru.
• Online coding: Connects to the manufacturer’s servers to correctly configure vehicle modules after replacement or retrofit. This allows functions to be activated or adjusted, such as disabling the start/stop system, adjusting lighting, or setting automatic locking.
• Guided functions (VAG): For vehicles within the Volkswagen group (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda), the system offers clear step-by-step instructions for complex coding tasks, such as key initialization, component learning, and system recovery. This prevents errors and speeds up the workflow.

• Cloud storage: All diagnostic reports, vehicle history, and customer data can be automatically stored in the Thinkcar cloud. This enables managing, synchronizing, and sharing data across multiple devices.
• Professional reports: Generates comprehensive pre-scan and post-scan reports, including fault codes, module status, and vehicle data. The reports can be fully customized with company logo, customer information, and comments, and are available as PDF for email or print.
• Remote diagnostics (TeamViewer integration): With the built-in TeamViewer function, technical experts or suppliers can remotely access the device. This is especially valuable for support in complex diagnostic scenarios or system learning, without physical presence.

License Information:

After the first year, the license can be renewed for an annual fee. The device remains fully functional for already supported models, even without license renewal. However, new software updates can no longer be installed, and some online features may be limited or no longer supported.
