The Autool SPT101 is a stationary Spark Plug Tester designed for diagnosing spark plugs outside the engine block. Within the ignition system, correct spark plug operation is crucial for efficient combustion. This instrument enables a visual check of the ignition spark under simulated engine conditions. The tester is specifically developed for diagnosing 12V gasoline engines of passenger cars and motorcycles, where the performance of individual spark plugs can be reliably and reproducibly determined.
The tester operates by simulating the function of a coil and internally generating a high voltage that is directly transferred to the placed spark plug. This allows a clear visual assessment of the spark strength and the continuity of the discharge. The device features an adjustable operating frequency that reproduces an engine speed from 500 to 6000 revolutions per minute (RPM). During use, the spark plugs are placed in the test ports, after which the spark discharge can be safely observed through the transparent protective cover to detect internal breakdown or a weak spark.

- Frequency Control: Provides the ability to adjust the ignition frequency via the rotary knob between 500 and 6000 RPM to check if the spark discharge remains stable under increasing engine load.
- Dual test port (Dual-hole): Enables simultaneous testing of two spark plugs. This is practically useful to directly compare a worn spark plug with the spark pattern of a new reference plug.
- Visual spark inspection: Allows visual assessment of the color, thickness, and path of the ignition spark to detect internal short circuits, worn electrodes, or insulator cracks.

- Transparent safety cover: Equipped with a hinged cover that is placed over the test ports. This protects the technician from accidental contact with high-voltage components during the testing phase.
