The Julie VAG | IMMO OFF | Emulator is an electronic module developed to replace or simulate the original immobilizer signal in Volkswagen Group vehicles. Its primary function is to temporarily or permanently disable the IMMO function, allowing the engine control unit (ECU) to start the engine without a valid transponder signal. This is used in diagnosing starting problems, testing the ECU, or when components of the original immobilizer system, such as the transponder key or the reading coil, are defective.
This emulator supports various types of engine control units used in models from Audi, Seat, Skoda, and Volkswagen, including systems from Bosch, Magneti Marelli, and Siemens. The installation and configuration of the Julie VAG | IMMO OFF | Emulator are intended exclusively for test and workshop use by qualified personnel. Permanently deactivating the immobilizer system results in reduced vehicle theft protection and may be subject to legal restrictions.
Applications and functionalities:
-
IMMO OFF - Deactivation of the immobilizer: The primary application is disabling the immobilizer. This provides a solution when original IMMO components are defective. After installation, the engine can start without an authorized signal. This function is relevant for a wide range of ECU types:
- Audi: Models with Bosch EDC15, EDC16, ME7 and Siemens control units.
- Seat: Models with Bosch EDC15, EDC16, ME7, Magneti Marelli, and Siemens SIMOS control units.
- Skoda: Models with Bosch EDC15, EDC16, ME7 and Siemens control units.
- Volkswagen: Models with Bosch EDC15, EDC16, ME7, Delphi DCM, Magneti Marelli IAW, and Siemens SIMOS/PPD control units.
- Testing the Engine Control Unit (ECU): The emulator is used to test an ECU on a test bench. By simulating the IMMO system, the functionality of the ECU can be verified without the presence of all original vehicle components.
- Replacing a defective ECU: When installing a used ECU, the emulator resolves synchronization issues with the vehicle's original IMMO system, allowing the replacement ECU to start the engine.
- Signal simulation: The module generates a digital signal that simulates a successful authorization of the immobilizer. This replaces the communication between the ECU and the original immobilizer module.
- Fault isolation: By temporarily bridging the IMMO system, a technician can determine whether a starting problem is caused by the immobilizer system or by another electronic or mechanical fault.
- Selectable programs: The module is equipped with solder pads (jumpers) that allow selecting the correct program for a specific ECU. This ensures compatibility with various types of engine control units within the VAG group.
The Julie VAG Emulator is intended exclusively for use by qualified professionals in a workshop environment for diagnostic and repair purposes. Permanently disabling the immobilizer (IMMO OFF) may reduce the vehicle's theft protection.
Supported vehicle brands and applications:
This product is developed for replacing the immobilizer signal in specific vehicles of the VAG group, including Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Seat, Skoda, and Volkswagen. Communication with the vehicle systems is supported via both CAN-bus and K-line protocols.
