The Autel Nissan 14-pin adapter is specifically designed to connect older Nissan vehicles equipped with a 14-pin diagnostic port to a modern OBD2 interface. This adapter acts as a physical bridge between the vehicle-specific Consult connector, commonly used in Nissan models before the OBD2 era, and the standard 16-pin connector of diagnostic equipment. The housing is compact and robust, making it suitable for daily use in the workshop.
The Adapter internally configures the pin assignment so that the communication lines of the Nissan Consult protocol (including Tx, Rx, and Clock signals) are correctly passed to the diagnostic equipment. This enables bidirectional communication with the vehicle's electronic control unit (ECU). It is a passive signal converter that requires the connected diagnostic scanner to be software-capable of interpreting and processing Nissan's specific OBDI data stream.

KEY POINTS
Applications and functionalities
This adapter is essential for reading Nissan models from before the year 2000/2001. Functionality depends on the diagnostic scanner used.
- Reading fault codes: Access to the engine ECU and transmission systems to check stored DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
- Live data display: Reading sensor data and parameters via the Consult I protocol.
- Actuator tests: Controlling components such as fuel pumps or fans (if supported by scanner and vehicle).
- Pin conversion: Physical conversion from the 14-pin layout to the standardized 16-pin J1962 female connector.
