OTOFIX IM1 Car Key Programmer

The OTOFIX IM1 is a professional and wireless key and IMMO programming device, specially developed for locksmiths, key services, and workshops that want to specialize in immobilizer management and key programming. As a sister brand of Autel, OTOFIX combines the reliability of OE-level technology with an intuitive user experience. The IM1 is built around a robust 7-inch touchscreen tablet, running on Android 9.0, and guides the user step by step through key procedures, with clear instructions and vehicle-specific workflows.

Communication with the vehicle is wireless via the supplied OTOFIX V1 VCI, which connects via Bluetooth to the OBD2 port. The IM1 is primarily focused on IMMO and key programming functions, but functionality can be expanded with full OE-level diagnostic and service functions via an optional, paid license. The device comes standard with two years of free software updates for all IMMO functions. After this period, the system continues to function fully on the last installed version; an annual license is required to continue receiving new updates and vehicle support.

Diagnostic and service functions:

Although the OTOFIX IM1 is basically designed as a key and IMMO specialist, the system can be expanded with a paid diagnostic license, unlocking full OE-level diagnostic and maintenance functions. This upgrade makes the device a versatile all-rounder for daily workshop use.

• Complete system diagnosis (OE-level): Provides access to all electronic vehicle modules, such as engine, transmission, ABS, airbag (SRS), BCM, HVAC, comfort systems and more. Supports reading and clearing fault codes including detailed fault descriptions.
• Active tests (bidirectional control): Sends commands to actuators, relays and components such as fuel pumps, air conditioning clutches or electric windows, to test their operation directly without disassembly.
• Advanced service functions: Unlocks more than 25 maintenance and reset functions, including:
  • Oil service reset
  • Electronic Parking Brake (EPB)
  • Battery management (BMS)
  • Steering Angle Sensor calibration (SAS)
  • Diesel Particulate Filter regeneration (DPF)
  • And additional functions such as injector coding, TPMS reset, transmission adaptation and more

Key & IMMO functions:

The OTOFIX IM1 is fully focused on immobilizer management (IMMO) and key programming. The functions are similar to those of the Autel IM508 and offer powerful capabilities for both universal key maintenance and brand-specific IMMO procedures.

• Smart IMMO functions: The IM1 features two operating modes for optimal flexibility:
  • Smart Mode: A guided workflow with step-by-step instructions, ideal for general key tasks and less experienced users.
  • Expert Mode: Provides direct access to individual IMMO functions, aimed at experienced technicians working with more complex configurations.
• Advanced key programming:
  • Read PIN code: Reads the security code (PIN code) directly via the OBD connection on supported vehicles.
  • Add Key: Programs new keys or remotes without overwriting existing keys.
  • All Keys Lost: Supports programming keys when no working keys are available – including support for Volkswagen/Audi IV, V and MQB platforms.
  • Replace IMMO components: Relearns components such as the IMMO ECU, engine ECU, or KESSY module after replacement or repair.
  • Transponder read / write / clone: Identifies, duplicates, and edits transponder data for various chip types, including support for popular aftermarket transponders.

Optional expansions and modules:

The true power of the OTOFIX IM1 is fully utilized in combination with the optional programming accessories, which make the device suitable for advanced key and chip programming outside the vehicle (bench mode).

• OTOFIX XP1 / XP1 Pro programmer: Expands the IM1 into a full-fledged bench programming tool, ideal for applications where OBD programming is not possible or desirable. Depending on the chosen variant (XP1 or XP1 Pro), the following functions are supported:
  • Read/write EEPROM: Reads and writes data directly from EEPROM chips, essential for key recovery or IMMO system adjustment.
  • Read/write MCU: Supports programming of various microcontrollers used in IMMO-ECUs, dashboards, and other vehicle modules.
  • Read/write transponder data: Reads and writes transponder information directly from the chip – useful for duplication, modification, or key recovery.

License information:

• Including 2 years of updates: A 24-month update license is included with purchase.

After the first year, the license can be renewed for an annual fee. The device remains fully functional for already supported models, even without license renewal. However, new software updates can no longer be installed, and some online features may be limited or no longer supported.
