The OTOFIX D1 Max update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the D1 Max with one year. The device codes control units in Volkswagen, Audi and BMW vehicles, supports hidden functions freely and supports CAN FD, the protocol used by newer vehicles. The D1 Max is a diagnostic tablet for more than eighty American, European and Asian manufacturers, and all these functions draw from the same software file which is expanded with every update.

After you place your order, we activate the licence on the serial number of the D1 Max, typically within one working day, after which the update menu displays the new versions. A licence renewal updates the manufacturer coverage, the service procedures and the coding files with it. When the licence expires, the D1 Max remains fixed on the version from that point and the existing functions continue to work on the vehicles already supported.

✕Downloading requires a stable Wi-Fi connection; on a busy guest network, a large update can take considerable time.

Applications and functionality

The D1 Max software comprises far more than a simple vehicle list. Alongside the vehicle coverage are included in the procedure files online and offline online services that the manufacturer assigns to it. Below you'll find what renewal means for each component.

What a renewal provides

  • New vehicle coverage: Brands, models and model years added after your last update become available within existing diagnostic functions.
  • Expanded service functions: Procedures such as oil service, transmission adaptation, brake bleeding, air suspension and headlight adjustment remain compatible with newer vehicles as manufacturers modify their systems.
  • Coding files: The coding and adaptation procedures follow the modules released by manufacturers.

What happens without renewal

  • New versions: Nothing further is added, including no corrections to software already installed.
  • Online side: Services running through manufacturer servers may become limited or unavailable after expiry.
  • Daily operations: Reading and clearing codes, live data and active tests on known vehicles continue without interruption.
