The OBDSTAR power adapter supplies your OBDSTAR device from a standard wall outlet. On the mains side, the adapter features a European plug (Type C), and on the device side, a fixed DC output cable with round connector, which connects to the power input of your tablet or programmer. Unlike the other cables in this range, this accessory does not establish a connection with a vehicle.
When working at the bench, there's no OBD2 port to power the device, and during extended sessions, the internal battery drains. The adapter converts mains voltage to the direct current your connected device requires, delivering it straight to the power input. This keeps your device running during firmware updates, bench-based key programming, or lengthy diagnostic sessions.
The adapter provides power only—it does not unlock vehicle systems and has no impact on your device's diagnostic capabilities. Not all OBDSTAR devices use the same power input; the manufacturer provides no voltage, current, or connector specifications, so you'll need to verify these against your own equipment.

Control modules you can reach
- No vehicle control modules: this accessory does not connect to a vehicle and therefore reaches no control modules.
- Your OBDSTAR device itself: the adapter supplies power only to your tablet or programmer via the DC input.
What you can do
- Power supply for tablet or programmer: use the device on your workbench without connecting to a vehicle.
- Firmware and software updates: with stable power, reduce the risk of interruption from a dead battery.
- Key programming on the workbench: teach in keys or program transponders while the device isn't connected to the OBD2 port.
- Replace original adapter: use as a spare or replacement part.
- Important: first check polarity, voltage and plug diameter against your own device; damage from incorrect power supply is not covered by warranty.
Compatible vehicles and applications
What matters is the power input of your OBDSTAR device, not the vehicle or model year. This accessory has no vehicle-specific application. The only question is whether the DC plug and voltage match your tablet or programmer's input.
