The OBDSTAR P50 is a specialized airbag module reset tool for clearing crash data after vehicle collisions. The device supports 108 vehicle brands and over 16,600 ECU part numbers, including specific MCUs. The P50 runs on an RK3128 quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor with Android 5.1.1 and features a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 800x480 resolution. The license is valid for 1 year from purchase and provides access to all supported airbag reset procedures and related software updates.

Beyond one-click airbag reset, the device includes fuzzy search for quickly locating ECU part numbers, complete BENCH mode wiring diagrams, and comprehensive fault code reference files. Additional features include battery reset (MVBM) and SAS calibration. For bench work on SRS modules, the P50 can be expanded with the MP001 programming module, which extends functionality to read and write EEPROM, FLASH, and MCU data across various ECU types. The device supports WiFi for online updates and includes a 32GB micro SD card for storage expansion.

License information

When you purchase the OBDSTAR P50, a software license is included that provides access to the airbag crash data database and related features. The license is tied to your device's serial number and is activated after registration.

  • License period: Valid for 1 year from the date of purchase and device activation.
  • Software updates: Access to new ECU part numbers, additional vehicle makes and models, expanded wiring diagrams for BENCH mode, and improvements to existing reset procedures.
  • Advanced features: An active license is required to access the latest airbag database, error code description updates, and new vehicle support.
  • After license expiration: The device remains fully functional with the last installed software version, but new updates and feature expansions become available again only after renewing your license.

Good to know: Register your P50 after receiving it through the OBDSTAR portal. Once registered, software updates can be installed via WiFi—these are often necessary for complete support of the latest ECU part numbers and vehicle models.
