The OBDSTAR P001 Programmer is a multifunctional programmer that combines the functions of an EEPROM adapter, RFID adapter, and Key Renew adapter in one device. The device is intended for diagnostic technicians and key specialists working on EEPROM operations, reading PIN codes, creating simulated keys, and reusing keys on a wide range of vehicle brands, including FIAT, Alfa Romeo, VW, Audi, Renault, Toyota, Subaru, BMW, and Land Rover. By using dual coils with a stronger signal, the P001 supports a wider range of RFID frequencies than comparable adapters.

The P001 connects to the main unit and works with the included C001 and C002 circuit boards and the W001, W002, and W003 data cables. Depending on the chip type and working method, the user selects a circuit board for direct chip processing or a data cable for connection without desoldering the chip. The W001 cable reads or writes data via a bonding wire to the chip, the W002 cable clamps directly onto an SOP 8-pin chip without soldering, and the W003 cable reads or writes data via positive and negative clamps combined with yellow and blue test probes on the data interface.

✕ The correct wiring diagram per chip is essential; incorrect wiring can damage the chip.

Applications and functionalities

The OBDSTAR P001 Programmer supports the following operations on keys and EEPROM data:

  • Create dealer keys: Full dealer keys can be created for FIAT, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Iveco, Abarth, Ferrari, VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Bentley, Lamborghini, Renault, Dacia, Lada, and Smart.
  • Create simulated keys: Applicable to Toyota, Lexus 94/D4, A8, 98, A9 and 39, Subaru 78/F1, BMW, Land Rover, Jaguar, and motorcycles for creating functional replacement keys.
  • Read PIN code: Reading the PIN code from original keys of GM Epica and from Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha systems.
  • Copy keys via OBD: Keys for Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia, Guzzi, Gilera, Derbi, Peugeot, and Italjet can be copied via the OBD port.
  • Read, write, and restore EEPROM/PIC: Complete handling of EEPROM and PIC data, including correcting damaged data.
  • Reuse keys: The Key Renew function makes used keys suitable again for relearning.

Special functions and capabilities

The P001 stands out in the following points:

  • Double coils with amplified signal: This achieves a wider range of RFID frequencies than is possible with a conventional single coil.
  • Tianjin FAW and VIZHI immobilizer coil initialization: Specific support for initializing immobilizer coils via the C001 printed circuit board.
  • Solderless chip connection: The C002 printed circuit board works with W001, W002, or W003 without the chip needing to be soldered onto the board.
