The OBDSTAR MK70 update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the MK70 with one year. The MK70 is a key programmer for motorcycles and does not work on cars or commercial vehicles. What comes with the updates is therefore very targeted, namely new key and immobiliser procedures for two-wheelers.
With key programming, coverage by brand changes in stages. The MK70 now programmes via OBD and via the bench on nineteen brands, creates keys via dump on eight brands and reads the PIN code on Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha with an original key. Each update can shift those lists. When the licence expires, the MK70 continues to work on the last installed version and you retain the procedures contained within it.

Applications and functionalities
An active licence keeps three components of the MK70 running. These are the key procedures, the odometer work and the online support. Below is what a renewal provides and what stops working without it.
What a renewal provides
- New key procedures: Brands and models that OBDSTAR adds to OBD and bench programming become available.
- Extended dump work: Creating keys via RFID and recalibrating the odometer via dump follow new instrument clusters.
- Updated PIN code functions: Reading the PIN code on Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha grows with newer model years.
What happens without renewal
- New software: Updating via WiFi no longer delivers new versions and the brand lists remain as they were.
- Online support: Remote assistance via TeamViewer and other online services may be discontinued or become limited.
- Existing key work: Programming, dump work and odometer adjustment continue to work on the brands already in your version.

How does it work in practice?
From order to updated device takes four steps. The serial number is the only thing you need to locate yourself.
- Provide serial number: Provide the serial number of your MK70 in the order notes field.
- Activation: We link the licence to that serial number, typically within one working day.
- Connect the device: Switch on the MK70 and connect it to WiFi; keep it on the charger during download.
- Install updates: Open the update menu and install the available versions.
