The OBDSTAR ECU Master update licence for configuration D extends your entitlement to software updates with one yearConfiguration D operates independently of the three vehicle configurations and is not tied to a segment, but to what needs to happen after damage.
This configuration unlocks the airbag module, the battery management, the steering angle sensor and other control units, and is designed for reset and clear rather than reading, writing or cloning. Each update adds control units to those lists. When the licence expires, the device continues to operate on the last installed version.

Applications and functionalities
An active licence keeps three components of configuration D running. These are the control unit list, the reset procedures and the editing modes. Below is what a renewal provides and what stops working without it.
What a renewal provides
- New control units: Airbag modules, battery management and steering angle sensor units added after your last update become available.
- Updated reset procedures: Clearing crash data, resetting battery management and learning the steering angle sensor follow the new units.
- All five modes: OBD, BENCH, BOOT, JTAG and BDM are updated together with the lists.
What happens without renewal
- New software: No new versions will be received and the lists remain where they were.
- Online services: OBDSTAR online services may be unavailable or limited.
- Existing work: Resetting and clearing continues to work on the control units already in your version.

How does it work in practice?
From order to updated software is four steps. The serial number is the only thing you need to locate yourself.
- Provide serial number: Provide the serial number of your ECU Master when ordering in the remarks field, with reference to the configuration.
- Activation: We extend the licence on that serial number, typically within one working day.
- Connect the device: Connect the ECU Master with the USB cable to the PC running Windows 10 or later on which the software is installed.
- Install updates: Open the software, retrieve the new version and install it.
