The OBDSTAR ECU Master update licence for configuration C extends your entitlement to software updates with one year. Configuration C is the variant for commercial vehicles, tractors and off-road machinery and unlocks three module groups: engine management, transmission, and body and chassis modules.

In the heavy-duty segment, coverage is based on controller series rather than model years. This extension maintains lists such as the Mercedes-Benz MR and MCM series, the MAN EDC7 controllers, the Scania EMS series and the Cummins CM-series. When the licence expires, the device continues to operate on the latest installed version with the controllers contained within it.

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕This extension applies only to configuration C; passenger vehicles, motorcycles and safety systems have their own configuration and licence.

✕The coverage varies by module group, as the brand list for engine management is considerably longer than that for transmission and body; verify in advance whether your controller falls within the correct group.

✕An extension provides software only, not hardware, so for JTAG and BDM work the C4-10 adapter remains necessary.

✕The software remains English and Chinese language and requires a PC running Windows 10 or later.

Applications and functionalities

An active licence keeps three components of configuration C operational. These are the controller lists, the operations and the editing modes. Below is what a renewal provides and what stops working without it.

What a renewal provides

New controllers: Engine management, transmission and body for commercial vehicles, agricultural and off-road machinery each receive their updates.
Updated operations: Cloning, VIN reading and writing, odometer calibration, CheckSum correction, MAPS reading and writing, and locking or unlocking a controller follow the new types.
All five modes: OBD, BENCH, BOOT, JTAG and BDM are updated together with the lists.

What happens without renewal

New software: No new versions will be released and the controller lists remain as they were.
Online services: OBDSTAR online services may be unavailable or limited.
Existing work: The controllers already present in your version continue to function normally for reading, editing and writing back.

How does it work in practice?

From order to updated software takes four steps. The serial number is the only thing you need to locate yourself.

Provide serial number: Provide the serial number of your ECU Master with your order in the remarks field, specifying the configuration.
Activation: We extend the licence on that serial number, typically within one working day.
Connecting the device: Connect the ECU Master to the PC running Windows 10 or later via the USB cable, where the software is installed.
Install updates: Open the software, retrieve the new version and install it.
