The OBDSTAR ECU Master update licence for all four configurations extends your entitlement to software updates with one year. With A, B, C and D all enabled simultaneously, the device covers passenger vehicles and electric vehicles, motorcycles, commercial vehicles and off-road machinery, plus safety systems.

With this configuration, a renewal carries the greatest weight, as four module groups are maintained concurrently. This ranges from the Bosch MED and EDC17 controllers and over five hundred transmission types in A, via over three hundred motorcycle controllers in B and the Mercedes-Benz, MAN and Scania series in C, to the airbag and BMS resets in D. After renewal, the device continues to operate on the last installed version.

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕The licence is tied to single serial number and does not transfer to a second device.

✕The coverage varies by module group, as the manufacturer list for advanced engine management is considerably longer than that for transmission and body systems.

✕A renewal provides software only, not hardware, so some controllers from 2020 onwards still require the P003 adapter.

✕The software remains English and Chinese language and requires a PC running Windows 10 or later.

Applications and functionality

An active licence keeps all four configurations current simultaneously. These are the module lists from A through D, the operations on that and the operation modes. Below is what a renewal provides and what stops working without it.

What a renewal provides

New controllers across all four configurations: Passenger vehicles and electric vehicles, motorcycles, commercial vehicles and off-road machinery, and safety systems.
Updated operations: Cloning, checksum correction, immobiliser work, VIN reading and writing, odometer calibration and the resets from configuration D follow the new controllers.
All five modes: OBD, BENCH, BOOT, JTAG and BDM are updated together with the module lists.

What happens without renewal

New software: No new versions will be added and all four module lists remain as they were.
Online services: OBDSTAR online services may be unavailable or limited.
Existing work: The controllers already in your version continue to be read, edited and written back normally.

How does it work in practice?

From order to updated software is four steps. The serial number is the only thing you need to locate yourself.

Provide serial number: Provide the serial number of your ECU Master when ordering in the remarks field, with reference to the configuration.
Activation: We extend the licence on that serial number, typically within one working day.
Connect the device: Connect the ECU Master with the USB cable to the PC running Windows 10 or later on which the software is installed.
Install updates: Open the software, retrieve the new version and install it.
