The TopDiag BT400 is a multifunctional battery tester designed for analyzing the condition of 12V and 24V batteries. This tester measures and analyzes key parameters such as the State of Health (SOH), State of Charge (SOC), internal resistance, and the actual cold cranking current. The measurement range for the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) spans from 100 to 2000 A, allowing a wide range of batteries to be tested. The results are displayed on a clearly readable LCD screen.
In addition to the standard battery test, the BT400 offers extensive diagnostic capabilities for the complete starting and charging system of a vehicle. The start test checks the starting voltage, while the charging test examines the operation of the alternator. The tester is equipped with reverse polarity protection, preventing damage to the battery or tester in case of incorrect connection. Tests can be performed directly on the battery in the vehicle without needing to remove it.
Application and functionality:
The tester is equipped with multiple diagnostic functions for a complete analysis of a vehicle's electrical system.
- Battery test: Analyzes the overall condition of the battery by measuring the state of health (SOH), state of charge (SOC), internal resistance, and cold cranking current (CCA). The result provides an indication of lifespan and performance.
- Start test: Checks the performance of the starting system by measuring the minimum voltage during engine start. This function helps identify problems with the starter motor or battery.
- Charging test: Evaluates the operation of the charging system (alternator) by measuring the output voltage both unloaded and under load. This allows the user to assess the functionality of the alternator and voltage regulator.
Supported battery types:
The TopDiag BT400 is compatible with the most common types of lead-acid batteries used in vehicles.
- AGM: Both Absorbent Glass Mat flat plate and spiral batteries.
- EFB: Enhanced Flooded Battery, often used in vehicles with a start-stop system.
- GEL: Batteries where the electrolyte is bound in a gel form.
- Lead-acid: Conventional wet cell batteries (Flooded).
Supported battery standards:
The tester supports measurements according to various international standards for battery capacity.
- BCI: Battery Council International
- CA: Cranking Amps
- CCA: Cold Cranking Amps
- DIN: Deutsches Institut für Normung
- EN: European Norm
- IEC: International Electrotechnical Commission
- JIS: Japan Industrial Standard
- MCA: Marine Cranking Amps
- SAE: Society of Automotive Engineers
