The Launch X-431 PAD VII update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the PAD VII with one year. What the PAD VII can do is determined by the software, not the hardware. The device is the largest diagnostic tablet in the range, featuring a thirteen-inch screen and the SmartLink C V2.0 as the interface. The interface has a dedicated screen and works both locally and remotely, and the device supports CAN FD, DoIP, J2534, D-PDU and RP1210, with a topology map that displays fault codes per module. An extension gives you one year's access to all new versions released during that period.

The extension is digital. You will receive a card with a code in your mailbox and enter it on the PAD VII itself, in the update menu. When ordering, provide the serial number of the device, as this field is mandatory. An extension keeps the vehicle coverage, the coding and programming files and the remote services including

✕Without internet connection on the device, nothing happens, regardless of licence validity.

Applications and features

Three things on the PAD VII depend on the licence. The vehicle coverage determines which vehicles the device recognises, the function files determine what it can do with them, and the online services deliver external data.

What a renewal provides
