The Launch X-431 IMMO Plus update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the IMMO Plus with one year. Using the supplied X-PROG 3 the device reads and writes anti-theft ICs, extracts passwords and clones engine and transmission control units on the bench, including the VAG Group's MQB platform. The IMMO Plus is an eight-inch device that combines key and immobiliser work with full system diagnostics, and for this type of work what matters most is whether the device recognises today's vehicles. An active licence is what makes that difference.

An extension primarily updates the key and immobiliser files because manufacturers update their engine immobilisers annually; additionally, the standard vehicle coverage grows. To get this process started we need the serial number of your IMMO Plus; this is mandatory at the time of order. You will then receive the renewal card by email and enter the code in the update menu When the term expires, nothing changes on what is already stored on the device.

IMPORTANT NOTES

✕Vehicle connection plays no role in updates; everything occurs via WiFi and the charger.

What a renewal provides

  • New vehicle coverage: Brands, models and model years added after your last update become available within existing diagnostic functions.
  • Expanded service functions: Procedures such as service light reset, throttle valve adjustment, steering angle sensor reset, brake pad reset and tyre pressure reset continue to work on newer vehicles as manufacturers update their systems.
  • Programming files: The files behind ECU programming are expanded for newer control units.

What happens without renewal

  • No updates: New coverage and new procedures no longer reach the device.
  • Online functions: Anything the software does not have built-in may stop working afterwards.
  • Unchanged: Diagnosis on vehicles the device already recognises remains unaffected by licence expiry.

How does it work in practice?

Below four steps describe the entire process. Ensure the IMMO Plus remains connected to the charger during the download. charger hangs.

  1. Device details: Provide the serial number of your IMMO Plus when placing your order.

  3. Activate on the device: Enter the code in the IMMO Plus update menu; a PC is not required.
