The Launch CRP429 software update license is a digital update subscription that upgrades the diagnostic software on your scan tool to the latest version. The license is valid for 12 months, during which you gain access to all released software updates, expanded vehicle coverage, and enhanced diagnostic capabilities. This ensures your device stays compatible with newer vehicle models, electronic systems, and current diagnostic protocols added by the manufacturer.
Activation is completed using an update card with a 12-character activation code. Simply log into the scan tool's companion software or app and manually enter the code through the update or license menu. Once entered, the updates become available for installation on your device. After the 12-month license period expires, your installed software continues to work, but new updates and additional vehicle coverage are locked until you activate a new license.

Serial Number Information

- Back of the Device: The serial number is printed on a sticker on the back of the Launch CRP429 next to the barcode.
- Information Menu: In the diagnostic software, the serial number can be found under the device information or system settings menu.
- Startup Screen: When powering on the device, the serial number is briefly displayed on the screen during software loading.
