The OBDSTAR CAN Direct Kit is an accessory set for reading ECU data in vehicles equipped with a gateway module. Since modern vehicles are increasingly equipped with gateways for communication security, direct communication via the OBD diagnostic connector is blocked. This kit bypasses that block by making direct contact with the relevant CAN bus, allowing reading and programming on protected vehicles.
The set consists of a CAN Direct main cable with a split design, which can be connected to the TOYOTA-24 or TOYOTA-27 ECU adapters for specific vehicle models. During use, the main cable connects to the OBDSTAR diagnostic device, while the corresponding ECU cable makes direct contact with the smart key ECU of Toyota or Lexus models. This enables, among other things, proximity key programming, All Key Lost, and reading smart key ECU data without requiring a PIN code.

The OBDSTAR CAN Direct Kit supports the following operations on Toyota and Lexus models:
- Proximity key programming (4A): For Toyota Corolla, Corolla Cross, Corolla Sport, Corolla Touring, Levin, Allion, and Livin from 2019/2021 via the TOYOTA-27 cable, without pincode and with AKL support.
- Proximity key programming (8A-A9): For Toyota Camry, C-HR, IZOA, Prius, and Lexus ES, RX450H, LC from 2018 via the TOYOTA-27 cable.
- Proximity key programming (8A-AA): For Toyota Highlander HV, RAV4, RAV4 HV, Avalon, and Lexus UX, RX, LS from 2018 via the TOYOTA-27 cable.
- Proximity key programming (8A-A8): For Toyota Prado, Land Cruiser, Crown, Highlander from 2018 via the TOYOTA-24 cable.
- Proximity key programming (8A-A9) via TOYOTA-24: For Toyota Vellfire, Alphard, and Crown Kluger HV from 2018.
- Smart key ECU data reading: Direct communication with the smart key ECU for data reading necessary during key procedures.
- All Key Lost (AKL): Supported on all listed models for situations where no working key is available.
