The Jaltest JDC502A connects the proprietary 6-pin diagnostic connector of Steyr engines to the 16-pin OBD2 port that the Jaltest Link diagnostic cable fits. On the machine side there is a round metal bayonet connector with a knurled ring, with a red ring around the black contact carrier, six round pins and a screw-type cable clamp behind it. The cable is 29-31 cm long.
With this cable you reach the two Steyr engine control units covered by Jaltest, EDC CAN and UIS 1.0, with fault codes, measured values and ECU data. For the 3-pin connector there is the JDC501A, which has a noticeably smaller connector and a blue ring. The cable works with the Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and is covered by Jaltest OHW and Jaltest Marine.

Applications and functions
Via this connection you access the engine control unit of the Steyr engine with 6-pin connector using the Jaltest software. Jaltest groups these control units in the Steyr Engines coverage group; the diagnostic connector is located on or next to the engine block.

How to use it

- Switch on ignition: Turn the ignition on without starting the engine.
- Read out: Select Steyr Engines and the control unit.
Compatible engines and applications
The engine determines compatibility, not the machine it is installed in. Steyr engines are fitted as standalone drives, so Jaltest includes the coverage at engine level. The same engine therefore appears under stationary engines and inboard marine engines; check on site whether your engine block has a 6-pin or a 3-pin connector.
