The Jaltest OBD202 connects the manufacturer-specific 3-pin diagnostic connector of Iveco to the 16-pin OBD2-port on your Jaltest diagnostic cable. It is a sealed block measuring 7.5 cm: on one side the wide OBD2 housing with OBD202 moulded into the plastic, on the other side a small black connector with locking tab. There is no cable attached; the adapter connects directly between your diagnostic cable and the vehicle socket.
This connection routes the communication lines from the vehicle through to the Jaltest Link, establishing direct communication with the on-board control units. The diagnostic equipment can then access the engine control unit EDC M7, the braking systems ABS C3 and ABS Knorr-Bremse, the ECAS-air suspension in all its variants, the retarders Intarder KWP and EST-32, and the WTEC III Allison-automatic transmission. The scope covers Iveco vehicles from before 1998: the EuroCargo, EuroTech, EuroStar and EuroTrakker truck series from that period, plus the second-generation TurboDaily. The adapter is approved for Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under Jaltest CV.
KEY BENEFITS
IMPORTANT NOTES
Applications and functionality
Via this connection you access with the Jaltest software the control units of the vehicle. Below units and functions belong to the CV joint protection from Jaltest. Which systems are actually present varies depending on model and execution.
Control units you can access
- EDC M7, engine management:The electronic control of the in-line injection pump.
- ABS C3 and ABS Knorr-Bremse anti-lock braking system:The two braking systems found on this generation.
- ECAS 4x2 A, 4x2 Ratio, 6x2 DV, CAN and KWP, air suspension:The electronically controlled air suspension systems used in Iveco vehicles.
- Intarder KWP and EST-32, retarder:The auxiliary braking systems on the tractors.
- WTEC III Allison transmission control:The Allison automatic transmission adjustment.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes:Read the fault memory of the control unit, with a description of the detected fault.
- View measurement values:The current sensor values connected to the control unit, displayed in figures and graph format.
- Control components:Parts can be activated directly to determine whether a fault lies with the component itself or in the wiring.
- Configure parameters:Write configurations and settings to the control unit.
- Perform calibrations:With systems where Jaltest offers a calibration procedure, for example following component replacement.
- Perform resets:Reset counters and notifications after a repair.
- Watch live:Monitor live readings during a test drive or diagnostic run.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type is what matters, not the vehicle model. This adapter fits any Iveco equipped with the 3-pin diagnostic connector in the cab. The focus is on the truck series that Iveco manufactured until 1998; the end year is set at that point. If you operate a Daily with the round 38-pin connector, the OBD401 is the correct product — that is the distinction in this pairing, not the pin count.
Iveco (coverage up to 1998):
- EuroCargo (1st generation): (approx. 1991 - 1998)
- EuroTech: (approx. 1992 - 1998)
- EuroStar: (approx. 1993 - 1998)
- EuroTrakker: (approx. 1993 - 1998)
- Daily / TurboDaily (2nd generation): (approx. 1989 - 1998), where equipped with the 3-pin connector
