\nThe Jaltest MDC08 is the test cable between the 4-pin EBS connector from the Wabco modulators of the fourth generation and the 16-pin OBD2-connection for the Jaltest ETM. You connect it directly to the modulator, not to the vehicle's diagnostic connector. On the device side there is a4-pin connectorin two rows of two, housed in a black casing with ayellow locking bracket.\n
\nWith this connection, the Jaltest ETMthe role of the control unit and establishes its own communication with the modulator. This allows you to determine whether the componentgenuine fault is, or whether the fault is in the wiring or control unit sits. The ETM runs a complete measurement cycle of the modulator and a End of Line test. In addition to this cable, you will need the ETM unit itself, with a ETM licence and an ongoing CV or Modular software licence.\n

Applications and functionality
Via this cable, the Jaltest ETM communicates directly with the component, without intervention from the vehicle control unit. Below is what you can achieve with this cable and what you can establish in the workshop.
What you can achieve with this cable
- Wabco EBS modulators, fourth generation: The modulator with the 4-pin connector for which this cable is designed.
- The modulator itself, not the vehicle: The cable connects to the component, not to the vehicle's diagnostic port.
- Older Wabco modulators: These require a different test cable; the MDC08 will not fit.
What you can do
- Test the component in isolation: The ETM takes over the role of the control unit and communicates directly with the component.
- Determine whether the component is actually faulty: If the component works, the fault lies elsewhere in the system.
- Perform a complete diagnostic check of an EBS modulator: Full diagnosis of the modulator.
- Carry out an End of Line test (EOL): The check that confirms the component is working correctly.
What you will need
- Jaltest ETM: The test module itself. For the Jaltest Link V9, this is the ETM interface with reference 70001007; the complete ETM kit is 70001008.
- ETM licence: Without this licence, the ETM will not start. Annual renewal has reference 29701.
- An active Jaltest software licence: A CV licence or a Modular licence. Other modules cannot be combined with the ETM.
- Power supply: The ETM is powered from the vehicle's batteries.
