The Jaltest MDC06 is the test cable between the 10-pin connector (2x5) with yellow locking of a Wabco third generation modulator and the 16-pin OBD2 port of the Jaltest ETM. You connect it directly to the modulator, not to the vehicle's diagnostic port.
With this connection, the Jaltest ETM takes over the role of the control unit and establishes the communication with the modulator itself. This allows you to establish whether the component is actually faulty, or whether the fault lies in the wiring or the control unit. To do so, the ETM carries out a full measurement of the modulator and an End of Line test. In addition to this cable, you need the ETM itself, with an ETM licence and a valid CV or Modular software licence.

Applications and functionality
Via this cable, the Jaltest ETM communicates directly with the component, without the intervention of the vehicle's control unit. The cable connects to the modulator, not to the vehicle's diagnostic port.

How to use it
- Start the software: Open Jaltest on the PC or laptop.
- Connect the ETM: Connect the OBD2 end to the ETM.
- Clear the connector: Disconnect the vehicle plug from the modulator.
- Connect: Plug the cable into the modulator.
- Test: Start the measurement or the End of Line test.
Compatible components and applications
The generation of the modulator is decisive, not the vehicle brand. The MDC06 fits Wabco modulators of the third generation with the 10-pin connector.
Wabco:
- EBS modulator, third generation: 10-pin connector (2x5) with yellow locking.
Other generations:
- MDC07: First and second generation.
- MDC08: Fourth generation.
- MDC09: Third generation with redundancy valve.
What you need
- Jaltest ETM: The test module itself. For the Jaltest Link V9 this is the ETM interface with reference 70001007; the complete ETM kit is 70001008.
- ETM licence: The ETM does not start without this licence. The annual renewal has reference 29701.
- An active Jaltest Software Activation: A CV Activation or a Modular Activation. Other modules cannot be combined with the ETM.
- Duration: The ETM licence runs in line with the expiry date of your Jaltest software licence. If that runs for longer than one year, you only pay for the remaining period. If the Jaltest licence expires, the ETM will no longer work until it is renewed.
- Power supply: The ETM is powered from the vehicle's batteries.
