The Jaltest JDC551A connects the rectangular 6-pin diagnostic connector of Liebherr earthmoving, material handling and lifting equipment to the 16-pin OBD2 port of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the machine side, there is a black rectangular plug with a locking clip on the top and flat pins in the housing; this plug is located in the cab or engine compartment. The cable measures 28 to 30 cm.
Once the connection is established, the Jaltest software accesses the machine's control units, and the extent of access depends on the machine type: on an R-series excavator you reach the machine computer MCM, on an L-series wheel loader the UEC3- or Master4-computer plus the engine controllers ECU2-HD, ECU3, LIDEC1 and LH ECU UPCR, and on an LTM mobile crane additionally the transmission (AS Tronic, TraXon, GSII and Ecomat 1), braking system, retarder and SCR aftertreatment. For construction and lifting equipment, an OBD connection has never been mandatory, so this plug appears across multiple machine generations. The cable is part of the Jaltest Link V8.1 and falls under Jaltest OHW (construction and earthmoving equipment).

Applications and functionality
Via this connection, you access the Jaltest software to diagnosemachine computer, the engine management and on the cranes also the transmission, the braking system and the aftercare. Which units are present varies considerably depending on the machine type and generation. The units listed below are from the Liebherr coverage.\n

- Machine computer (MCM):The machine computer of the R-series excavators, with fault codes, measured values and maintenance data, but without ECU data.
- UEC3 and Master4 (Ethernet / RS232), machine control unit:The central computers of Liebherr wheel loaders.
- ECU2-HD, ECU3, LIDEC1 and LH ECU UPCR, engine control:The Liebherr engine management systems in the machines.
- MR/PLD, engine control with unit pump system:The legacy engine management system on LTM cranes.
- ADM and ADM 3, engine control interface:The interface between engine management and machine operation on LTM cranes.
- AS Tronic, TraXon, GSII and Ecomat 1 transmission control:The switching and transmission controls of the LTM mobile cranes.
- ABS D/E and ABS/ASR E (CAN), anti-lock braking system:The braking system of LTM cranes.

- Perform additional functions: For SCR aftertreatment on LTM mobile cranes.
- View diagnostic warnings: Including the ADM engine control interface and GSII switching control.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the machine model. This cable fits any Liebherr machine with the rectangular 6-pin diagnostic connector. Located in the cab or in the engine compartment and identified by the black housing with locking clip. The following series are covered by Jaltest OHW support.
