The Jaltest JDC523A connects the proprietary 4-pin diagnostic connector of a Kubota engine to the 16-pin OBD2 input of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the machine side there is a rectangular black plug with a yellow contact insert and four flat pins, with a straight cable entry. The plug belongs to the engine block itself, so you will find it on or next to the engine and not in a fixed location on the machine. The overall length is 28 to 30 cm.

With this connection, the Jaltest software covers the two Kubota engine controllers in the coverage: the E-CDIS with common rail injection and the ECU 05. Both have the same range of functions in the coverage, from fault codes and measured values to maintenance and additional actions. The cable works with the Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and is included in Jaltest AGV, OHW, MHE and Multi-purpose Vehicle.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕Only for the 4-pin Kubota plug with the yellow contact insert; engine blocks from other manufacturers have their own connector.
✕The connector is on or next to the engine block and not in a fixed location on the machine, so locating it is part of the job.
✕With this you only reach the engine controller; the other systems on the machine keep their own connector.
✕At 28 to 30 cm the cable is short, so the interface hangs close to the block during measurement.

Applications and functionality

The cable is intended for workshops that read out Kubota engine blocks in compact machines and stationary installations. Which of the two controllers is fitted is determined by the engine version, not by the machine around it.

How to use it

  2. Connect: Insert the JDC523A into the connector.
  3. Link connection: Connect the OBD2 end to the Jaltest Link.
  4. Ignition on: Switch the ignition on without starting the engine.
  5. Read out: Select Kubota and the engine series.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The plug determines it, not the machine. Kubota supplies its blocks as standalone power units, so the engine series counts and not the brand on the bonnet. This cable fits every Kubota block with the 4-pin connector with the yellow contact insert. The series listed below are in the Kubota coverage.

Kubota:

  • D series: D 1803.
  • V series: V 1505, V 2403, V 2607, V 3307, V 3800, V 4309, V 5009 and V 6108.
  • WG gas engines: WG 1605, WG 1903, WG 2503 and WG 3800.

Good to know: The 4-pin diagnostic connector belongs to the Kubota block and is located on or next to the engine, not in a fixed location on the machine. You can recognise it by the yellow contact insert in a black housing. Check on the machine itself which connector is fitted to your engine before ordering.
