De Jaltest JT2008 is een toerenteller voor in de hand, waarmee u vaststelt hoe snel een as, een riemschijf of een ventilator werkelijk rondgaat. Het is een zelfstandig meetinstrument: Er komt geen kabel, geen aansluiting op het voertuig en geen software aan te pas.
Het display heeft twee regels: Bovenaan een waarde in RPM, daaronder een regel van vijf cijfers. Linksboven staat een symbool voor een uitgezonden lichtbundel, dus u meet op afstand. Met HOLD blijft de laatste waarde staan. Het instrument weegt 298 gram en meet 125 x 80 x 245 mm.

Toepassingen en functionaliteiten
Een toerenteller telt hoe vaak een draaiend deel per minuut rondgaat en zet dat om in een getal op het display. Dat getal is een onafhankelijke meting: Het komt niet uit een regeleenheid en niet van een sensor die zelf defect kan zijn. Daarom is het bruikbaar zodra u twijfelt aan wat het voertuig zelf aangeeft.

Zo gebruikt u hem
- Markering aanbrengen: Plak een streepje reflecterend plakband op het draaiende deel.
- Inschakelen: Zet het instrument aan met ON/OFF.
- Richten: Richt de meetzijde met vrij zicht op de markering.
- Waarde vasthouden: Gebruik HOLD om de laatste waarde te bewaren.
- Noteren: Schrijf erbij op welk deel u hebt gemeten.
Compatibele voertuigen en toepassingen
Bepalend is het draaiende deel, niet het voertuig. Deze toerenteller heeft geen diagnoseaansluiting en geen regeleenheid nodig en is daarmee ook bruikbaar op een landbouwmachine of een aggregaat zonder OBD-aansluiting.
Bedrijfsvoertuig en autobus:
- Motor: Stationair toerental tegen de opgave van de fabrikant.
- Nevenaandrijving: Compressor, dynamo en ventilator.
Landbouw-, terrein- en bouwmachine:
