The Jaltest JDC572.9 connects the round 9-pin diagnostic connector of the Hyundai CE 9 series directly to the 26-pin DB26-port of the Jaltest Link. On the machine side, there is a round plug with a grey knurled ring, a red pin holder and nine sockets. On the other side is a DB26 socket with three rows of gold-plated connections in a metal collar, eliminating the need for a separate 16-pin diagnostic cable.

Once the connection is established, the Jaltest software reaches the central machine computer MCM (9 Series), where machine functions and fault memory converge. On machines with a Cummins engine, the engine control unit ECM Cummins is also included, in both SAE J1708- and SAE J1939-versions; not every 9 series has a readable engine control unit alongside the MCM. The cable falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines).

KEY BENEFITS

Connects directly to the 26-pin DB26 port of the Jaltest Link; no separate 16-pin diagnostic cable required.
Reaches the MCM (9 Series), the central machine computer of the Hyundai CE 9 series.
On machines with Cummins engines, the ECM Cummins is also covered, both via SAE J1708 and via SAE J1939.
The round connector with the grey knurled ring and the red pin holder can be identified on the machine visually, without counting the pins.

IMPORTANT NOTES

For the round 9-pin connection of the CE 9 series only; the earlier CE 8 series uses a rectangular 4-pin connector, for which the JDC556A is intended.
This cable terminates in a 26-pin DB26 and not in 16-pin OBD2; it will not fit on an interface without a DB26 port.
Which control units are present varies by machine: not every CE 9 series has a readable engine control unit in addition to the MCM.
The Cummins engine control unit is available in a J1708- and a J1939-version; which of the two is installed determines which databus the equipment operates on.

Applications and functionality

Via this connection, you access the Jaltest software to communicate with the machine's control units. Which systems are present varies by model and specification. The units listed below are covered by Jaltest OHW's Hyundai coverage.

Control units you can access

  • MCM (9 Series), central machine computer: The 9-series computer where machine functions and fault memory converge.
  • ECM Cummins SAE J1708, engine control: The Cummins engine control unit with the older J1708 databus.
  • ECM Cummins SAE J1939, engine control: The Cummins engine control unit with the newer J1939-CAN bus.

What you can do

  • Read and clear fault codes: Access the control unit's fault memory with descriptions of detected faults.
  • View live data: Display current sensor values connected to the control unit, in numerical and graphical format.
  • Track maintenance: Record service intervals and completed work, with a service report.
  • Perform additional functions: Execute extra procedures that Jaltest offers per control unit, where available for that system.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This cable fits Hyundai CE machines with the round 9-pin diagnostic connector. Construction equipment has never had a standardised diagnostic connector, so year of manufacture is less relevant here: the distinction follows the model generation. The machines listed below are covered by Jaltest OHW.

Hyundai (CE 9-series):

  • R140LC-9 tracked excavator: (approx. 2010 - 2014)
  • R210LC-9 tracked excavator: (approx. 2010 - 2013)
  • R380LC-9 tracked excavator: (approx. 2010 - 2013)
  • R380LC-9A tracked excavator: (approx. 2013 - 2016)
  • R140W-9 wheeled excavator: (approx. 2010 - 2013)
  • HL740-9 wheel loader: (approx. 2010 - 2013)
  • HL740-9A wheel loader: (approx. 2014 - 2018)
  • HL757-9 wheel loader: (approx. 2010 - 2013)
💡
Important to know: The 9-pin connector is located in the cabin. Construction machinery is not subject to OBD requirements; the distinction is based on the model generation — the CE 9-series versus the CE 8-series — rather than the year of manufacture. Check the machine itself to confirm which connector is fitted before ordering.
