The Jaltest JDC561A9 is officially described as a diagnostic cable for Hitachi with Isuzu engines, 8-pin and converts that 8-pin engine connector to the standard 16-pin OBD2-interface. The connector is located in the engine wiring harness at the engine itself, not at the diagnostic port in the cab. The cable measures 30 cm and is designed for use with the Jaltest Link V9.
On the interface side, there is a black 16-pin OBD2 socket with the OBD symbol on the housing. The engine side is identifiable by its shape: a grey, square connector housing with a green sealing ring in the opening, a rubber grommet on the cable and a black overmoulded section behind it. Halfway along, a thinner line branches off to a DC power socket; the 6-pin JDC560A9 has at that point a fully black housing without green sealing. The cable falls under Jaltest OHW (Off-Highway machines).

Applications and functionality
Through this connection you access the engine control unit of the machine using Jaltest software. Which version is present depends on the engine and the Zaxis generation.
Control units you can access
- 4HK1 and 4JJ1 (K-Line) — Isuzu common-rail engine control: The common-rail engine control of the Isuzu four-cylinder, in K-Line configuration.
- 4HK1 and 4JJ1 (CAN) — Isuzu common-rail engine control: The same engine control on newer machines with CAN connectivity.
- ECM — engine control: The engine control as Jaltest specifies for the heavier Isuzu engines.
- AdBlue/DEF Isuzu — exhaust aftertreatment: The aftertreatment control on machines equipped with AdBlue system.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit, with descriptions of detected faults.
- View live data: The current sensor values connected to the control unit, displayed as figures and graphs.
- Track maintenance: Record maintenance intervals and completed work, with a service report.
- Perform additional functions: The extra procedures that Jaltest offers per control unit, where available for your system.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector determines compatibility, not the model. This cable fits any Hitachi machine where the Isuzu engine has the 8-pin connector in the engine harness. The engine series listed below are covered by Jaltest OHW; you can identify the version by the housing: Grey with green seal belongs to this cable, solid black to the JDC560A9.
