The Jaltest JDC526A adapts the 19-pin diagnostic connector from FPT engines to the standard 16-pin OBD2 connection of your Jaltest diagnostic cable. On the engine side sits a round Amphenol connector with metal housing and ribbed coupling ring; the black interior features nineteen closely spaced pin positions, of which some are populated. This connector belongs to the engine and is located in the engine bay—which version you encounter depends on the engine generation rather than the vehicle's year of manufacture. The cable measures 28 to 30 cm.
Through this interface, diagnostic equipment accesses the engine network and thus the engine control unit and exhaust aftertreatment system: from EDC 7 C1 and EDC 7 UC31 via EDC 16 C39 and EDC 17 CV41 + Denox 2.2 to EDC MD1 CE101, plus the AdBlue dosing system Denoxtronic 2.1. The feature set varies by generation: the latest units include service intervals and additional actions in coverage, whilst the oldest lack these. Jaltest classifies these engines under IVECO-FPT; the cable falls under Jaltest Multi-purpose Vehicle.

Applications and functions
Through this connection, you can access the Jaltest software to diagnose the engine control unit and the exhaust aftertreatment system of the FPT engine. The range of functions expands with the generation of the control module. The units listed below are covered under IVECO-FPT coverage.
Control units you can access
- EDC 7 C1 and EDC 7 UC31 (CAN and K Line): The first common rail generations. With the CAN version, service intervals are also included in the coverage; with the K Line version, they are not.
- EDC 16 C39, engine control: The intermediate generation.
- EDC 17 CV41 + Denox 2.2: The control unit with integrated aftertreatment, also available in a EURO 6D version.
- EDC MD1 CE101, engine control: The current generation, with the most comprehensive function set.
- Denoxtronic 2.1, exhaust aftertreatment: The AdBlue dosing system, which Jaltest reads as a separate system.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit with fault descriptions, and clear it after repair.
- View live data: Monitor current sensor values from the control unit, with the ability to set alarm thresholds for out-of-range readings.
- Maintenance: Consult engine service intervals and record associated work in a report. Available on, among others, EDC 7 UC31 (CAN), EDC 17 CV41 + Denox 2.2 and EDC MD1 CE101.
- Additional functions: The extra procedures that Jaltest offers for each control unit, such as reset and calibration functions. Only available on EDC 17 CV41 + Denox 2.2 and EDC MD1 CE101.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the machine. FPT engines are installed as standalone powerplants, so the engine series determines the cable choice. Jaltest covers the series listed below under IVECO-FPT in its database; the pin configuration on your engine indicates which version you have.
