The Jaltest JDC517A connects the older diagnostic port of Valtra and Valmet tractors to your Jaltest equipment. On the machine side, there is a round black connector with eight contacts, a ribbed coupling ring and a metal cable clamp with screw on the rear. The eight contacts are arranged in three rows close together in the centre of the round contact holder. On the interface side, the cable terminates in the 16-pin OBD2, and it measures 28 to 30 cm.
With this connection, the Jaltest software reads the engine control unit EEM2 - VP30/VP44, the engine electronics with distributor injection pump that Valtra and Valmet used before common rail injection was introduced. For these models, the EEM2 is the only control unit that Jaltest supports: transmission, hydraulics and instrument panel are not included. In addition to fault codes and measured values, service intervals are also covered here. The cable is part of the Jaltest Link V8.1 and falls under Jaltest AGV (agricultural vehicles).

Applications and functionality
Via this 8-pin connection you access with the Jaltest software the engine management of the tractor. No other systems are included via this connection: The Valtra coverage remains with this models at the engine, and not at the transmission or the hydraulics. The list below is derived from that coverage, with the functions available on this control unit.
Control units you can access
- EEM2 - VP30/VP44, electronic engine management: The engine electronics with distributor injection pump; the only control unit Jaltest carries for these Valtra and Valmet variants.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit with fault descriptions, and clear it after repair.
- View live data: The current sensor values on the control unit, with the ability to set alarm thresholds for values outside the normal range.
- Consult maintenance: Request maintenance intervals and record completed work in a report.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the model. This cable fits any Valtra or Valmet with the round 8-pin diagnostic connector. The following series are covered by Jaltest AGV; within the A-series and the T-series both this 8-pin and the later 16-pin connector are found.
