The Jaltest JDC408A is the adapter cable that converts the 16- and 32-pin connectors from the gateway module in Renault and Nissan commercial vehicles to the standard 16-pin OBD2 interface. Rather than connecting to the vehicle's diagnostic port, you attach it directly to the gateway connector in the wiring harness, ensuring diagnostics bypass that module. On the other end, you connect your Jaltest diagnostic cable.
Behind that gateway lies the commercial vehicle network. Once connected, the diagnostic equipment can access the engine control unit EDC MD1, the brake and stability control system ABS/ESP V7.0, the body control module BCM and the exhaust aftertreatment system SCR Gen4. This cable is part of the Jaltest CV (commercial vehicles) range.

Applications and Functions
Using this connection, you access the Jaltest software to reach the vehicle network behind the security gateway port. The following control units are shown in the coverage for the Renault Trafic 2.0 dCi and the Nissan NV300 Primastar from 2021, the variants where this port is located in the housing.
Control units you can access
- CGW: The security gateway to which this cable connects.
- EDC MD1: The engine control unit with common rail injection.
- ABS/ESP V7.0: The brake, anti-slip and stability control system.
- SCR Gen4: The exhaust aftertreatment system.
- BCM and UPC: The body control module and the fuse and relay box control unit.
- CU 4.1 and TDB Gen2: The climate control and instrument cluster.
- AB Gen2, FRCAM and UPA Gen2: The airbag system, the driver assistance camera and the parking assistance system.
- SAS and TCU: The chassis control and the telematics module.
What you can do
- Read and clear fault codes: Access the fault memory of the control unit, with descriptions of detected faults.
- View live data: The current values of the sensors connected to the control unit, displayed as figures and graphs.
- Activate components: Directly trigger components to determine whether the fault lies with the component itself or in the wiring.
- Parameters, calibrations and maintenance resets: For the systems where Jaltest offers these procedures.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector type determines compatibility, not the vehicle model. This cable is designed for the security gateway port featuring 16- and 32-pin connectors. The vehicle models listed below are confirmed to have this port; other Renault and Nissan vans may be equipped with the same port without being explicitly listed here.
