The Jaltest JDC304A connects the two 4-pin diagnostic connectors of the Wabco bus electronics to the 16-pin OBD2 connector for the diagnostic cable of your Jaltest Link. On the OBD2 side, the cable splits into two branches, each with a black 4-pin connector with locking pin and two rows of two positions. One branch has yellow, white and blue wires, the other red, black and green.

With both branches connected, the Jaltest software reaches the ATC and ATC Coach, the automatic climate control, and the MTS, the modular door control. This lets you assess door faults and climate complaints using fault codes and measured values. For these two systems, coverage is limited to reading. The cable works with the Jaltest Link V8.1 and V9 and falls under Jaltest CV.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕For ATC and MTS, coverage is limited to reading. Component control, parameters and calibration are not listed in the coverage table for these systems.
✕You cannot reach the other Wabco systems, such as ABS/ASR, EBS, the ECAS air suspension and TPMS, with this cable; they have their own connector.
✕The two connectors are not at the OBD location but at the control unit, in a switch cabinet in the cabin or at the door.
✕At 28 to 30 cm the cable is short, so you work beside the switch cabinet and not from the driver's seat.

Applications and functionality

The cable is intended for reading the comfort and bodywork electronics of the bus. These are systems with their own control unit, separate from the drivetrain. The units below are part of the Wabco coverage of Jaltest.

  • Fault codes: Read and clear after repair.
  • Measured values: Temperature and door positions.
  • Fault message: View the MTS fault message itself.

How to use it

  1. Finding the connectors: Locate the two 4-pin connectors at the control unit.
  2. Connecting: Plug both branches of the JDC304A in.
  3. Linking the Link: Connect the OBD2 side to the Jaltest Link.
  4. Ignition on: Switch on the bus ignition.
  5. Reading: Select the bus make and then ATC or MTS.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The system is decisive, not the bus make. The cable is for the Wabco ATC climate control and the Wabco MTS door control with the 4+4-pin connection. Jaltest includes these units in its coverage for Solaris and Solbus, among others; the connector on the control unit determines whether the cable fits.

Wabco ATC:

  • City and regional buses: With the ATC climate control on the 4+4-pin connection.

Wabco MTS:

  • Buses with MTS: The modular control that operates the doors.

Bus make:

  • Not decisive: Jaltest lists both systems for Solaris and Solbus, among others.

Good to know: The two 4-pin connectors are located on the control unit itself, in a switch cabinet in the cabin or at the door. You recognise them by the locking pin and the two rows of two positions. Wabco uses a different connector for each system, so check which connection is on the control unit before ordering.
