The Jaltest JDC217.9 is the cable for machines equipped with the standardised 9-pin Deutsch diagnostic connector type 2. On the machine side, there is a green round plug with a black coupling ring and nine sockets; on the other end, instead of a 16-pin OBD2 connector, there is a 26-pin DB26 plug with screw flange, which connects directly into the port of the Jaltest Link V9. This means you do not need an OBD2 adapter cable. At 147.5 to 152.5 cm in length, this is one of the longer cables in the range, allowing you to remain comfortably connected to your equipment from the connection point.
SAE J1939 is the CAN standard used by heavy vehicles and machines to enable their control units to communicate; the standard defines both the message structure and the diagnostic connector, which is why this cable carries no proprietary designation. This connector exists in two versions: the black type 1 for the slower bus and the green type 2 for the faster one, and this is the green variant. Because the connection is standardised, the same cable works on agricultural machinery, construction equipment, materials handling equipment and marine engines. The cable falls under Jaltest AGV, OHW, MHE, Marine and Multi-Purpose Vehicle.

Applications and functionality
Via the standardised 9-pin Deutsch connector you access the machine's data network. What sits on it is not a fixed list: A tractor carries different control units than an excavator or a marine engine. What you can perform depends on the Jaltest module under which the machine falls.

- Parameters, calibrations and service resets: For systems where Jaltest offers these procedures.
- Note: Which of these functions you see is determined by the machine and the Jaltest module it falls under, not by this cable.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The connector is what matters, not the brand. The cable is designed for the standardised 9-pin Deutsch connector type 2 and not for a specific machine manufacturer: SAE J1939 specifies the connector, so manufacturers cannot deviate from it. For agricultural machinery, construction equipment, materials handling vehicles and marine engines, a diagnostic connection has never been legally required, so this connector remains also on new machines in use.
